Dear Grade Five Parents,
This field trip is a few months away, but here are a few details for your information. A permission slip and further details will be sent closer to the date.
The field trip is ALL DAY. Drop off at the school at approximately 5:15 a.m. and we will be returning at approximately 7:30 p.m. We will be traveling by bus to the Tsawwassen ferry terminal for Victoria. In Victoria, we will visit the Royal BC Museum (www.royalbcmuseum.bc.ca) and then we will visit the Parliament Buildings, with a guided tour and a chance to view question period in the Legislative Assembly.
THe children will travel as a class with all teacher/staff supervisors. Parents are not needed to supervise on this trip, but are welcomed to follow the group to the exhibits, covering their own expenses. We suggest that parents organize cars to minimize ferry costs. This field trip is an incredible learning opportunity for your child as they are encouraged to manage money on the ferry to purchase breakfast/dinner. Students will. however, bring their own bagged lunch.
